Office of Minority Affairs and Diveristy (OMA&D)
Mission: “The mission of the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity is to ensure the access and academic success of a diverse student population through the advancement of knowledge, academic excellence, diversity, and the promotion of values, principles, and a climate that enriches the campus experience for all.”
Ethnic Cultural Center/Theater (ECC/T)
“The ECC has a wealth of resources and opportunities available to students including student advising, organizational development, personal growth, and referrals to different departments and programs. We are reminded daily by how students of color and their political and social activism have changed the university landscape. Dating back as far as 1917, students of color have continuously challenged this institution to provide underrepresented and minority students an equal social and educational opportunity. The Center represents a “home away from home” to many of our ECC students. The Center has been a place where students can find familiar faces similar to themselves, staff that care about their academic and personal well-being, and where students can meet, interact, hang out, and build community. ECC is also a place where you can learn leadership development skills, share and understand different cultural perspectives, and become future leaders of tomorrow.”

Disability Resources for Students
“The University of Washington Disability Resources for Students Office (DRS) at the Seattle campus was established in 1978 following the enactment of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 by the U.S. Congress. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), mandate that appropriate and reasonable academic accommodations be provided to students with disabilities. Since 1978, we have been committed to providing reasonable academic accommodations to qualified students with disabilities at the UW. DRS strives to support the University in the inclusion of students with disabilities as independent, responsible, and productive members of the campus community.”
OMA&D Instructional Center
“‘[A comprehensive learning center] is a special place where students come for special instruction not usually included in “regular” classrooms.’ This means that the Instructional Center (IC) is a place where students can take their time to learn and where students are not afraid to ask questions. It is a place where students study together and develop support groups and lasting friendships.”
The Q Center
“The Q Center envisions a University of Washington community where justice, equality, compassion, and respect for all people prevail. We facilitate and enhance a brave, affirming, liberatory, and celebratory environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual and gender orientation, identities, and expressions.”
